...whatever happened to Tanthalas? Where's he gone, and when, if ever, will he be back?

And if he's not expected to return, what of the research-sharing arrangement he shared with me, Carthaginian, and Sachmle? Should we count ourselves out of luck, or can we attempt to project likely projects for moderator approval?

I've not heard from Tanthalas in some time.  According to the Admin data, he hasn't been around for 64 days.

I'd suggest that if Italy continues to be maintained as a player nation in Tanthalus' absence, Italy can continue to be a part of your arrangement.  If it reverts to NPC status, probably not.

Problem is that Tan had some really big techs that he'd begun that the tech-sharing group had counted on receiving- namely 1912 turbines and 1910 IC engines. This is some MAJOR planning that we had put into motion, and having that removed basically means that we'd have to re-plan our entire research setup while running behind for several years.

Is there any way that we can at least count on the transfer of these techs on time and on target? Or are we just now behind 3-4 years because we'd actually played the game as it should be played (RP and negotiations) and the loss of a player left us in a lurch?

That'd be reasonable, as Tanthalus did post those techs.  Like I noted before, if somebody wants to "care-take" Italy in Tanthalus' absence (or until another player is found, if need be), as I'm doing with DKB, Italy can continue to be a full party to your agreement.

He suddenly dissappeared.  We talked regulary with IM services, untill my time on the net was cut short by daily life.   but even then i was in contact, untill "Poef,  gone".
