Senora Evita Class



Over the course of a war, it would not be difficult to amass and refit passenger liners into attack transports for amphibious operations.  Undertaking such an operation at the drop of a hat, however, would be problematic if the military relied on having the appropriate civilian vessels conveniently at hand for requisitioning.  Therefore, the Armada will commence construction on the Senora Evita class transports in 1911.

A purpose-built attack transport for emergency amphibious operations, the  class is designed to embark, transport, and land a Republican Marine assault battalion wherever they may be needed, including overseas destinations.  The ship is based on passenger ships of the era, but features additional steam launches for landing operations, turbines for sustained higher-speed steaming, and working space for Marines rather than ballrooms and casinos.

Two ships are planned for 1911, and long-term planning envisions eight in total, allowing an entire Republican Marine assault brigade to be capable of rapid deployments from each coast.

These ships are built to merchantile standards, other than armament, armor, and turbines.

Senora Claudia Class Attack Transport

Two new attack transports will be laid down in 2/1918.  They are basically a continuation of the previous run of eight, but with newer engines.  The reduced machinery weight allows for a bit of additional superstructure, which will go towards command and control facilities for landing ops.  The two new units will provide the Colombians with a dedicated military lift capacity of two 5,000 marine brigades.

Coronel Artur de Costa Class Attack Cargo Ship

With the 1915 TOE now providing the Republican Marine Corps' assault regiments with additional heavy artillery and other materials, it was decided to build two attack cargo ships (one per assault squadron) to transport the material and other supplies

An Eber class hull forms the basis for this class, which employs more modern machinery to develop higher speeds consistent with the Colombian attack transports.  A heavier main gun is provided, though the armament still remains minimal.  

The type's higher speed, heavier cranes, and larger boat complement does mean that the overall haulage ability is reduced with respect to the Ebers, but is adequate for the Marines' purposes.
