Please convey the appreciation of myself, President Alizandro, and the Gran Colombian people to the gallant officers and men involved in this action.  Their courage and sacrifice has undoubtedly avenged slain innocents and prevented future atrocities. 

Please convey also our deepest respects and sympathies to the families of those killed in action.  There are no words that will wholly erase the pain of their loss, but I hope that they will take some solace in knowing their loved ones gave their lives to vanquish a terrible evil.  Many more will live as a result of their dedication to duty.
