I still want a planet program that will allow me to make these changes and thus show how the weather pattern, climate shifts, and ocean currents will be effected by these new land masses.  I'm sure such things exist, but I don't know what they would be called, if they can be found online, or if one needs a supercomputer to operate it.
It would be cool, but i suspect we would need a lot more data on the new continents (mountains and such things) to be able to get any good idea.
On thing I have thought about is how the terrain in Africa must be changed by the great rift being part of the sea. IRL the surface of Lake Tanganyika is 700m above the sea and feeds into the Kongo river, here it is at sea level. I kind of imagine the shores of the great rift to look like Norwegian fjords, sheer cliffs a few hundred meters high shooting up from the sea.

Ok

Perhaps or perhaps not, the red sea is really the same rift expansion zone and it doesn't have such cliffs but its lower.  The African rift by its size would have hade to have opened some time ago lots of time for errosion to do its thing; especially in that climate area.

QuoteTell me more about the dynasty ... William's age? siblings? children? siblings' children? cousins?
All I know is that Prince Wiliam is a bold and energetic, maybe a bit rash, leader.
According to NS history the current dynasty are direct decendants of William of Orange and Mary. W&M conduct their invasion of England succesfully, but with French help, James II manages to recover his throne. W&M then flee to the New World but are followed there and have to flee again. They and many of their supporters find refugee in Northern Australia, where the Kingdom of Australia is founded. The Capital is later moved to Sydney, however New Amsterdam remains as the capital of the Principality of New Amsterdam.

The current Queen of the Kingdom of Australia is Queen Elizabeth II, her eldest son is Prince William, Admiral of the NSN and Prince of New Amsterdam. He is married to Princess Lei, whose brother (a certain Luke...) is currently in NS cras...err test flying planes. William has a brother who currently is a Cavalry Captain in the Royal Australian Army stationed near Firanj.

Hmmm Prince William has a claim to the throne of the Neatherlands...

Age? For Prince William, I'd say around late thirties. Children? 2 boys, 1 girls, between 7 and 12.

Anything else?

Which one? There have been something like ten William of Orange.

Ahoj!
Thank you. I am a bit surprised at the type of connection between the Duchy of New Amsterdam and Kingdom of Australia.

The description
QuoteGoverment: The KoA is a Parlimentary Monarchy currently headed by Queen Elizabeth II.
Goverment: Also a Palimentary Monarchy, the Prince of New Amsterdam is subordinated to the Queen of Australia.
did not prepare me for a dynastic union.

But the background lends itself to further twists.
Name of William's brother? Lemme guess - Henry? Edward?

To Korpen:
But that's crystal clear - the William whose wife was named Mary :D

Right... And which one of them was it that was married to a "mary" (there is three william of orange who have been married to different "Mary;s")

Ahoj!
Here the second clue comes in handy - a certain James II should help you pinpoint the relevant Wilhelm van Oranje.

William the III and Mary the II one would assume.  1690s.

I wanted to keep Firanj off the map to save os from opening this can of worms.

If we go with Northern Australia, then it was Dutch until like 6 years ago. That means the local populace is rather friendly to the Dutch. Go figure.

Why the change? In N-Verse 1.0, North Australia had always been Swiss. No need to change that here.

I still fail to understand why you call "Darwin" New Amsterdam.  Looking back on the maps again you are right, the norther most part of Australia was Swiss, the middle was "French" and the South was Dutch.  The Dutch moved into the center until the Caliphate protests got to the point of forcing the Dutch to pull out.  However this was still during the time of the Triple Alliance, two of which are now fighting the one.

Shouldn't New Amsterdam in in the south and not Darwin?
