What is it... I am currently trying to get everything set up for my 1906 report.  I would like to give the Italian fleet my own flavor, I promise nothing to extravagant yet but well I want it to be mine.

Ahoj!
Finally dug up an old post on this ...

The short:
you can build up to 1750,000 tonnes
ADDED LATER:
LOL!
A nice typo :)
175,000 tonnes, of course ...

The long:
25x current BP over a 15 year period. Losing one tech level per year.

oh i wasnt quite that outthere i was thinking along the lines of

X35 =P

A serious Question however can i have ships i built in 1906 taken out of my starting tonage? Say lay them down in 1905 and get them end of 1906 for example. They would be early by my fleet plan, But i was just Curious if i could do that

Nice to see you filling out the Marina section. I'll have a closer look at the designs soon. I can remove (some of) the old threads, if you wish.
The prefix for Italian ships used to be RN - Regia Nave.

I guess you mean "aberration".
You have two shift keys on your keyboard - USE them.
Look at the second key to the left of the right-side SHIFT - it is a dot. Very useful. And recommended.

Your predreadnoughts are ahistorical with the lack a medium caliber armament. The 3 turrets do not compensate for the relatively slow ROF of the 11" guns. And 5" guns are not adequate against cruisers either.

Also, your fleet is very top-heavy. Italy has a much bigger colonial empire than IRL, and that needs a lot of cruisers not battleships. That means you should cut the number of battleships classes to half (single battleships each class), and have more armored and protected cruisers.
The first purpose of a warship is to remain afloat. Anon.

1896 is too early for transom sterns.
Some thirty or fourty years too early ..

Did I post the transom stern one? OMG lol oh well ill fix that for sure.  That wasn't supposed to get posted >< was more of an Experiment than an actual ship, Bah better fix it now or it will bug me all night.  I really didn't think 60,000 tons of battle ships was out of line in a 175000 ton navy, Also they aren't intended to operate alone.  I ask that you withhold judgment on the fleet till you see it in its entirety, trust me it will be interesting to say the least.
