Someone said EVIL and Peru?  I'd need to work on a revolutionary's mustache and my impersonations of Pinochet/Peron/Noriega...
Heh. Do a forum search for "Agrival" - he's the power behind the throne there...  8)

Or, apparently, was until his demise...

Assuming he isn't dead by now. (at the hands of a blade perhaps, or a curse from a stolen blade.)

As far as know, Agrival Mars is the minister of foreign affairs in Peru (and very well possible the puppeteer pulling the presidentes strings).

His arrival with the Almirante Grau and a few large modern merchant ships in Lima after the ACM absorbtion into the UNK wasn't unnoticed....

Mr. Freeze:

Howdy, and welcome.  If you do end up with Peru, I'll be your morally ambiguous neighbour to the northeast.

Desertfox

I like your view of the pope. A protestant Italy would find a friend in New Switzerland and an enemy in Austria. And with Austria preocupied... ;) :D

Yeah Im the guy who started this latest war!

Welcome, and greetings from the Confederate States of America.

Peru would be in an interesting situation- open to the Pacific, which is currently in an uproar, you'd be likely to find yourself beset by people clamoring for you to choose sides sides in the struggle there.

Do you have any particular preference?
Currently Argentina, Mughal and India are unclaimed major powers. Also there is another bunch of claimed but inactive countries. We also have a big chunk of Terra Australis that is available for a Fantasy nation.

There are also a lot of unclaimed minor independent powers.

Korpen

Avalanche, , welcome!

I would like to see som of the countries in limbo taken, Italy or the Baltic confederation.

But before you really commit, to both playing and to any one country, try and make a half-year report and talk with players about the relationship they have with that country. Basically, be certain you know what it is you are getting into. :)

And generally, i think we (read: someone else) should write a short introduction to the game, to make it easier for a new player to get into it, it can be quite overwhelming in the beginning, and often important information is buried in long threads.

Some of the moderators (read: Ithekro and me) do not have time to do so in the middle of a war.

Was not expecting you to, was just pointing out that i am not the one to do it.
Well aware that you got your hands full as it is.

Greetings!

I'd suggest following Korpen's advice; after you do, some of the countries to choose from might be:

-Italian Empire
-Ottoman Empire
-Union del Sur-America (Argentina+Paraguay)
-Mughal Empire
-Bharat (Hindu India)

If you would rather play a smaller country:
-Rumania
-Persian Empire
-Burmese Empire
-Egyptian Caliphate

The Baltic Confederation and Ukraine are both inactive, not sure if they would be available for handover yet. Peru may or may not have a player. And of course, if you want something really off the wall, there's always Firanj...

Or if you want to be called a demon there's:
Siam
New Zion

Kind of small but they have New Switzerland to provide all sorts of goodies.

appreciate the headsup ... and have more than a passing familiarity with the research/build/operate/support gameflow.

haven't found any template for a 1/2 year turn yet nor an Economist atlas of population & industry.

any pointers there?

what kind of cycle time on the turns    realtime?    ;)
