I created the Warhammer for flavor. I
like
giant crocodiles and killer ten foot tall carnivorous chickens and I needed a river for them.
And so there is a river....

The great lakes should not have more than one outlet to the Oceans. This is the channel up north, with brackish water mixed by tidal currents. It might even have pretty high tidal surges to make things "interesting".

Ummmm, that's the way the lava flowed from
the Plate.
You can see the flow lines in the geography.

Lava flows have a bad tendency to cool down and stop on their way, not that far from the volcanos themselves.

Not if the event is as described, P3D. The flow out from Ywllowstone from three eruptions covers at least nine US states and a couple Canadian provinces. It compared to the the Masaryk Plate was as stated as 1/8th the size of this Maaryk eruption.
The lava outflow is not small and it does not cool off from an active super volcano.

Lava <> ash
But there are some examples were Lava covered large areas with lava flows extending several dozens to hundreds of kilometers, like large shield volcanoes like
Mauna Loa
or
Flood Basalt
.

India and the African rift are what I thought as examples, Nobody*. There Lava=lava. I do agree with you that ash drift normally far exceeds lava flow, As I note in the two examples mentioned by the geologist in her interview the lava flows are huge, and are thousands of kilometers in area associated with a plate tectonic edge event?
This is not a Krakitoa burp.
The
Warhammer
is logcal. and doable with such edge events.
Even tiny Yellowstone is not a small confined burp event-not really.
Less familiar examples to us are what Nobody mentioned...
and
Each uplift and outflow case here is all lava outflow and magma uplift with a sprinkling of ash as the sprinkle topping.
Thousands of kilometers in length in some cases you can see here from a couple of the cited examples.
D.
* Thanks for reminding me about the huge North American basalt raft.

If that is the case, I would recommend a small chain of mountains south of the Australian Great Lakes with a river coming from the mountains rather than the lakes. I seem to recall the southern area suppose to be arid or semi-arid to make troop advancement in that region difficult. Perhaps an ashen plain surrounding a non-portable water source that makes up the border? I think I was going to have it be a unchartable border in the sands (like the Arabian Desert borders of say Yemen and Saudi Arabia), but I likely made the border randomly before we decided what to do with the lands (since Ferenj is basicly pieces of a Middle Earth Continent I made up earlier, before we attached it again to North America, rotated and cut up mixed with a copy of the Great Lakes graphed onto Australia).

I would respectfully disagree. The plates and uplift mechanism I used to make that map don't match your suggestion. The continent cracked almost in two from the magma uplift mechanism (Indian model) chosen. Add in the Earth's winds as postulated for ash drift after the plate established as a geologic feature and that is the result.
You have the desert already. A river just runs through it. Which is fortunate because I wanted and needed the giant crocodiles.

I'm just attempting to think of another source for this southern river.

Well.....................................
I went through two geology models and four reworked maps to get something that most people finally liked. Now you want me to rework the map including the terrain distribution, the cities, the rail net, and
the Warhammer
again when its now very plausible and it actually fits into the NVerse Pacific cataclysms that had to produce the paradise that is Maoria and the New Swiss canker among other unexplained features?
Do you see me agreeing to do that rework without a very good reason for it? I'm just asking the question so I can get a feel for what the criticism here is.
